 Welcome to the Blog section of my web site. The plan for My Blog page is to provide you with answers to some of the questions about Buying and Selling Real Estate which I receive daily from visitors to my Web Site. A question I receive at this time of the year concerns with the best time to list a home. Many people who are thinking of selling their homes and property start thinking in late winter and early spring. That is because a lot of them have families and with children in school, they do not want to be moving when school is in session.
John C. writes; “When I sell my home, I want to sell fast and get the most money. What time of the year should I sell to get what I want?” 
John, there is no “best” time per se. All times of the year have benefits and drawbacks. Selling a home depends on supply, demand, and economic factors such as interest rates. The time of the year you choose, though, may make a difference in the amount of time it takes to sell and in the ultimate selling price. 
The Real Estate market usually starts to pick up in March and lasts through July. The earlier in the year a Seller gets their home on the market the better chance they have of beating “The Spring Rush” of other Sellers. Fortunately, West Michigan has a strong Real Estate market year round. Some homes sell faster and for more money in the winter months because of less competition. 
Correct pricing and preparation of the home are the largest factors in making sure a home sells fast and for the most money.
